Good servers. Great people. Same campfire.
Trash Panda Hosting provides free game and Mumble voice servers to friend groups and communities. Operating expenses are supported by voluntary community donations, and our architecture is designed to avoid wasted hardware capacity.
Smart idle hibernation
Most private game worlds are only active a few evenings a week. When a game server sits empty, we save its world state to disk and pause the container so RAM can be used by active crews.
Why Mumble?
Mumble is open-source, uses minimal CPU and memory, and delivers crisp Opus audio with low latency. A single node can host dozens of community voice camps simultaneously.
No artificial tiers
Everyone gets the same free essentials. Standard accounts can create up to 2 servers when node capacity allows, managed through a clean, matte-dark operational panel.
Keeping the campsite welcoming
Because hardware is shared across communities and funded by fellow players, we enforce clear acceptable-use rules to protect node stability:
- No fake player bots or anti-AFK scripts: Artificial traffic designed to bypass idle hibernation deprives other friend groups of memory.
- No non-gaming workloads: Containers may only run the supported game or Mumble service selected at creation—never cryptocurrency miners, proxies, or scrapers.
- No commercial reselling: Servers are free for communities; charging others for access to a Trash Panda server is prohibited.
- Network courtesy: Outbound scanning, DDoS activity, or abusive content results in immediate camp suspension.
What we store
We keep only the account and operational data required to run your servers: your username, email address, bcrypt password hash, server configuration, and container console logs.
We do not sell user data or run third-party ad trackers. Server world saves are retained while your camp is active or hibernating; abandoned servers may be archived after extended inactivity notices so disk space can be reclaimed.
